RE: [Digital BW] Speed Graphic: List Recommendation Needed

2003-07-18 by Tim Atherton

have you gone to www.graflex.org ? there used to be a list on there (along
with everything you ever wanted to know about speed graphics).

http://graflex.org/helpboard/

And more general large format lists (with useful archives)

at:

and also

www.f32.net

Very simply, you can still use it with the ground glass on the back, even if
the rangefinder isn't working. Though they are pretty simple and are
adjusted for the lens on the camera (and have to be re-adjusted for
different lenses. all sorts of info on that at graflex.org).

Depending on the model it may have a focal plane shutter as well as the
shutter the lens is attached to. The former are quite often out of whack on
cameras that haven't been serviced. The shutter on the lens may or may not
be okay.... old lubricants gum up. See how the different speeds sound.
Often running through them and firing it off 20 or 30 times loosen them up.
I'm guessing it's around a 135mm lens?

You just need a few film holders and film and away you go!

Oh - lots of info here too:

http://www.largeformatphotography.info/ tons of stuff from how to load
holders to dark cloths etc etc
