I've seen a lot of talk of the new Ultratone inks during my occassional
lurking, and am very excited to hear that these inks will soon be available
in pre-filled carts for the 1280!! (I don't print enough or have the
inclination to mess around with filling my own cartridges or using one of
those CFS system things - I'm lazy like that)
During the aforementioned lurking activities, I took mental notes and I
think this is where I am:
1) I should get blacker blacks on matte papers (due to new Eboni ink I
believe)
2) I will have the ability to print on SOME glossy papers, or perhaps just
some semi-gloss papers. The question is: which papers? I've seen posts
about Epson Pro Glossy not being so good, and also perhaps the Premium
Luster. How about Pro Semi-gloss, or other papers that I probably haven't
even heard of?
I find the look of a matte print OK, but there's just something I like more
in a semi-gloss print. Don't know what it is - perhaps it just looks more
like a photograph to me, as opposed to a very nice quality "computer print".
I'm absolutely going to buy some cartridges as soon as they're available,
but would appreciate a general summary from those that have tried these inks
during the experimental phase.
Thanks!
Matthew
