Re: Problem with CFS on 1160

2003-07-22 by markroth61

Bruce,
I have a 980 (which some say is the the smaller version of the 1160)
that would not print through the yellow head after recently sitting
in storage for a month. I did not have a CIS on it but had ink carts,
but the problem was fixed by switching out the cartridges with
cleaning cartridges, printing several 8x10 'prints' through the
cleaning carts (which I believe are filled with windex), running a
cleaning cycle, then putting back the ink carts...it then worked
fine. Don't know if this would fix your prob. but I know those
cleaning carts have worked great on my 980 both with the above
problem, and with changing from dye inks to Mis quad inks.
Best, Mark R.
