Richard, >... UT inks ... >It tooks only 6 days to deliver to Netherlands! That is good. I hope the duties are not too bad. >What should I look for when I change epson original cartridges to >these new MIS UT refilled cartridges? The Eboni black ink reacts with Epson dyes. So, while MIS says there is not enough dye in the desktop printer heads to cause problems, I think the head parking pads might have a lot of dye on them that will be a source of clogs. What I did with my 1280 that seemed to work was rinse the pads off very thoroughly with Windex. (Probably a mild ammonia solution or even plain water would do.) I used a syringe with a small tube on the end of it to reach the pads and then repeatedly soaked them and dried them with a paper towel. This totally stopped the clogging I was having after the printer had sat for a while. >I plan to fill one set today. Let it sit over night than put it in >printer, leave it there for half a day and than print purge patter >and start printing. I find when I vacuum fill the 1160 carts, I can stick them in and print immediately. This is, at least, true for the carts that show the ink all the way through to the seal at the outlet. I have some carts that still have air between the outlets and seals that can take a some cleaning cycles to get started. With bottom filling your approach is probably better. Good luck with your printing. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
