Elizabeth, Check a couple of recent posts, 3263 and 3251, if you haven't already read them. If the variable ink tone is important to you than only the MIS VM will do this, so that may be the deciding factor right there. If Piezo appeals but the cost is stopping you, consider buying Piezo with just a set of carts. Run those and see what you think. Then buy a CIS and a set of Full Spectrum inks from MIS and run them with the Piezo driver. Bigger investment up front but a way to have the Piezo and keep the continuing costs down. If you decide you liked the Piezo inks better, you can convert the CIS by just replacing the cartridge end and cleaning out the tubing. Or you could buy the MIS FS and CIS and run with the John Woolf workflow to start. You could always buy the Piezo latter if you weren't happy with the results or ease of use. Sounds like you are ahead of the game. You have an 1160, which will run any of the quad inks, and it sounds like you already have Photoshop experience. These decisions tend to evolve, so please ask questions as they occur to you. I guess you need to decide what is most important to you in a B&W printing system and go from there.
