Peter, Thanks for that bit of info. Should still be possible for use in the U.S. with a step tranformer. The 50-60HZ is okay and a 120V to 240V transformer would not be too hard to find or overly expensive. Roger, While possible, the overseas sourcing seems a bit complicated. If you don't find a refurb unit in the US, I would still think about the 1280.
