Re: [Digital BW] Digest Number 8

Roger, glad you find this list useful! We started it precisely for that kind of self-help. Hope you spread the word to like-minded folks (digital BW minded, that is!). I bought an 1160 last week from refurbdepo.com for $215.95. They may still have them. Mine hasn't come in yet (this is my second one), but I have no indication of delays to this date. Bear in mind that they are not all created equal. Mine (the first one) has been flawless - printing with a CIS and piezoBW inks since last November. But I have heard of others with various problems. As long as it's new and warranted by Epson, you can expect them to replace it if it's a bad apple. The advice from inkjetmall is to try it first using Epson inks. If it clogs beyond repair down the line (very unlikely given all the tricks to unclog), Epson may still take care of it. Worth taking a look at inkjetmall techsup tips. I strongly recommend the CIS from nomorecarts. In fact I don't ever want to see another cart in my life. It's just a big rip-off (price wise, regardless of whose inks are in there) and they don't work so well with piezoBW from what others say.
