B&W Inkjet Printer Choice was [Digital BW] Digest Number 8

Roger,

This is a tough and recurring problem. Epson seems to be cycling
their printer models faster than the alternative ink companies can
keep up. At this point I personally would not go on a hunt for a
printer that is out of production. I did it last December for a new
1200 and the situation seems to have gotten worse.

If I was in your position, I think that I would do this.

Buy a 1280, a set of one of the new MIS Hextone inks
http://www.inksupply.com/index.cfm?source=html/quadtone.html
and a CIS (Continuous Ink Supply) from
http://www.nomorecarts.com/ and start printing with that.

When ConeTech comes out with their set-up for the 1280 you could
convert over if you wanted to by just replacing the cartridge portion
of the CIS and the inks.

Or you could convert your 1200 to B&W and buy at 1280 for your color.

Welcome!

Martin Wesley
