Joe,

Thanks for the compliment. You should have felt free to call me when you
were here. The folks at the Elverhoj (or Marilyn Cronk, the director) will
give you the # and allow you to use the phone (I think).

This weekend is it for the show. It's been fun.

Paul,

For months I was looking forward to getting to Solvang to see your show and
finally visited the museum yesterday. It was worth the 15 hour roundtrip
drive! The show was inspiring! Anyone who feels that digital photography
cannot compete with silver printing should view your prints. From a purely
technical standpoint I could not perceive any superiority of one over the
other.
There will always be those who will hold that nothing can compare with
traditional silver printing and that's o.k. The point for me is that
standing
before your prints is all the argument I will ever need to conclusively
demonstrate carbon pigment printing is here and need make no apology to
any other process. It stands firmly on its own feet. Your art says it all
without
words. Not only is your work technically beautiful, but even more
importantly,
it is creatively beautiful! My only real disappointment was that I was not
able
to meet you personally.

One other thought: I wish to express my deep appreciation for your
extraordinary generosity in responding to the many inquiries made by
members of the B@W forum.

I'm sure many of the members, like me, never fail to read everything you
post. In addition, your generosity in giving of your valuable time in
answering
posts on the forum and your generosity in providing curves without profiting
from them proves your unselfish desire to help all photographers! I have
always felt that artists should do everything within their power to help one
another and should do it for free. You are a fine example for all of us.
Many
thanks, Paul!
Joe D.
