QTR2 Ink Calibration process

I've been attempting the ink calibration process in QTR2, and I've found
the documentation a little out of date. My inkpattern.psd file looks
nothing like the one in the Calibration document. Anyone else notice
this and have a way to work around it?

I tried to follow along despite the differences, and I'm already having
a problem with the hardware ink limit settings. According to the doc, I
should be looking for the first swatch that shows no paper through the
ink when examined with a loupe. Unfortunately, my inkpattern.psd
swatches have another ink in the background, not the paper, so I have no
idea at which point the ink washes out the paper.

Can anyone clarify this process?
