Digital BW, The Print

Dear List,

Am quite happy with QuadToneRIP neutrality, but what concerns me are the dither 
patterns shipped with GIMP - specifically in the lightest highlights I can see 
significant "roughness" in the dither patterns especially in subtle transistions from 
light grey to lighter grey (e.g. faces)

I have tried most of the resolution media choices and still am not happy with any of 
them.  "1440x720 DPI Four Pass Unidirectional" is the one I think is best of the ones I 
have tested, but still leaves me wishing for a better pattern. 

Anyone else have a problem with the GIMP patterns?
