Hi Michael, As I remember you are using a 9600. I've done some work with a 7600 and I think I saw what you're calling roughness. I don't think its the dither pattern but instead it's the ink droplet size. I've been looking at the printer documentation and it appears that there is an even smaller droplet size available. The version of gimp-print I'm using doesn't support that a later version does. So I'm going to try and retrofit that small droplet size into the gimp-print I'm using. I have a short timeslot to try this on the 7600 this coming week. If the simple fix works, I can make it available very soon -- but if I need to upgrade the whole gimp-print version it'll take longer.
