Have you gone through all the calibration steps? Specifically the ink-limiting step?

Also, are you _positive_ that you are using the correct curve? If you use the "calib" 
curve by mistake you will almost definitely get dripping-black output.

(I personally made both of the above mistakes a half-dozen times, so please don't 
think I'm being patronizing :) )
