Hi, I can't tell anything about the 2200, but I use an 1160 since 2 years with Full Spectrum inks, and I think its an inexpensive printer that gives very nice results. I once compared a print made on a 1290 with the same print made on the 1160, and the 1290 gives a slightly finer dither pattern, so overall if the 1160 is - lets say - 90% of the actually highest possible quality with inkjet prints the 1290 would be at 95 percent. And 100 percent? I don't know, maybe an Iris printer, I've never seen one :-) For the money the 1160 is great and good enough for excellent b&w prints, but I think its not a magic machine either. Built quality and quality control is probably higher on the 1290 and of course on the 2200. They are probably also faster. So I guess no need to create legends... regards Bernie
