I actually have both IP and the Septone system.   I haven't installed 
the Septone system yet, so I can't speak to it.  But (and I had this 
dialogue with someone here a few weeks ago, so sorry if this is 
repetitive), as I understand it, the Septone system does NOT require 
you to "dedicate" your 2200 printer solely to black and white.  When 
you want to go back to printing with the original color Epson inks, 
you remove the Septone cartridges and put the originals back in (then 
run a couple of head cleaning cycles).

Just wanted to make sure the wrong impression isn't given here.  As I 
understand it, it should be no problem to switch back and forth 
between the Spetone cartridges and the Epson cartidges (it probably 
gets expensive if you do it every day, though, since you have to run 
cleaning cycles when you switch, which wastes ink).

BTW, IP has worked great for me so far.  I'm exploring the Septone 
option just because.  ANd I'll post a detailed report here if I ever 
get time to make some prints....
