Len,

I tried again last night and it worked!  Thanks for making me 
persevere, but I could have done with a third hand as the 1290 is at 
the bottom of a rack in a cramped space and difficult to get to.  
Because of this I did not see, as I lay on the floor, that the two 
lights changed their flashing pattern.  I had thought, from what I 
had read that the two lights came on continuosly rather than flashing 
in synchronization.

Anyway, back on track now, although I have some clogs to clear 
tonight!
