Hello Colin
Procedure 3 on Mywords worked for me and my 1290 (uk equivalent to 1280 I
believe) - in fact I sent the details to Nij at Mwords which is why they are
their now. But you do have to follow every step strictly as described. Of
course, that's not to say it will work for you - but it may be worth a
second try if you still have the problem.
Good luck anyway
Len

Thanks, Len,

I tried version 3 on the Mwords site several times but without
success before I posted my message.

I didn't try again over the weekend as I get so frustrated and
decided to leave it until maybe I learned of other options today. I
did however clean up the machine to prepare it to have the CIS
removed and OEM carts installed before sending it to the Epson agent!

I'll give it another go. If I'm successful I'll let you know.

Thanks,

Colin

Len,

I tried again last night and it worked! Thanks for making me
persevere, but I could have done with a third hand as the 1290 is at
the bottom of a rack in a cramped space and difficult to get to.
Because of this I did not see, as I lay on the floor, that the two
lights changed their flashing pattern. I had thought, from what I
had read that the two lights came on continuosly rather than flashing
in synchronization.

Anyway, back on track now, although I have some clogs to clear
tonight!

Cheers, and thanks again.

Colin
