I installed the Septone system on my Epson 2200 on thursday night. After I inserted the cartridges, I ran 2 cleaning cycles. I couldn't get a good nozzle check, actually there was no ink coming out from the LK, M, C and LC nozzles at all. I know that the cartridges do not have the value inside(OEM Epson 2200 cartridge has value inside, so no air an go into cartridge from the bottom opening), there could be air bubble inside the cartridge. So I decided to print the flush image provided in the software CD, then the major problem came. The print head started spitting blob of inks on the paper and the black plastic area inside the printer. After the print is done(with blob of ink all over the print), I turned off the printer. On Friday morning, I called the customer support of inkjetgoodie. They said there shouldn't be any problem on the cartridges, only the first batch of the cartridges they sent out had problem and those cartridges I got are not from the first batch. They suggested me to let it rest for a while and test it again. Call them back on monday if problem still occurs. I try it on Friday night again(alomost 24 hr after the first try, the air bubbles should have already dispersed), still, I couldn't get a good check(can't even get 50% percent of the nozzles working). I let it rest overnight, and try it again this afternoon. Still couldn't get a good nozzle check and the leak came again. I try to print the flush image, the print head spit blob of inks on the paper again. When it was printing, I can see there was a little pool of ink on the sponge(which rest on the print head when it is not working, to keep the print head from drying out). Lots of ink was lost because of this. Finally, I pulled out the cartridges and used the scotch tape to seal the bottom opening. I replaced the cartridges with the OEM Epson cartriges and everything works perfectly fine(no leak, no spit, perfect nozzle check). My 2200 works perfectly fine before and after I put in the Septone system, so I believe the problem is from the cartridges. I will call inkjetgoodie again on monday to see if they have any solution for this. Frankly, I am quite disappointed with the result I got from these cartridges. Does anyone know why there was leak and spit from the print head? I used to have this problem on the MIS CFS on my Epson 1200 because the Siphon break was lost. But the Septone system I installed is not CFS. Thanks Jim
