Call me a wimp, but I never upgrade Photoshop until after I get the updated edition of the "Real World Photoshop" book. Even then I'd wait if necessary for Adobe's first bug fix, "Photoshop CS.0.1" I guess. Actually, being a Mac person, I might in this case also wait until Apple can release the OS X operating system being called "Panther" and bug-fix it. Everything seems to me to go better when all the parts and pieces are from the same developmental generation. Not that I know all this won't happen before Christmas. But I'm worrying about how best to straddle the gap between my scanners and OS X and the gap between OS X and the printers and still have money for Christmas. I'm thinking about using my old Mac and OS 9.1 for scanning and printing and getting a new one for Photoshop CS. But, while the new, 64-bit Mac desktops are shipping, 64-bit notebooks are not. And my impression is that OS 10 or "X" is quite a ways away from catching up with the new family of 64-bit chips already in the newest Mac desktops. So I'm trying not to get too eager to have PSCS. Especially since Adobe seems more preoccupied with developing and promoting their CS bundle than with Photoshop, InDesign, etc. individually. Bah, humbug!
