Digital BW, The Print

Hello Group, 

I am looking to upgrade my photo printer. Is there a consensus as to 
the best, at reasonable prices, for producing black and white lazer 
generated photos? Taking into consideration , longivity of ink on 
paper, cost of prints. I now have a ink jet printing @ $1.40 per 
8"x10" print.
