Michele,

First of all this is a *digital printing* list, not necessarily a digital
camera users list. Lots of folks here use only film cameras of different
formats. Others use digital cameras. Or both. Personally I only use film,
as I can't afford one of the few digital cameras that would meet my needs
for image quality and flexibility. I should also mention that I do a lot
of work hand-held in low light circumstances and digital is rather weak
there. I also like wide-angle lenses and most digital cameras don't go
very wide due to the nature/size of current ccd arrays.

I use Nikon cameras and lenses and am quite satisfied with them...though
I miss the light weight and silent operation of my old (alas stolen)
Olympus OM4s. I have a Nikon N70 among others and it's a good, flexible
instrument. Buy only Nikon lenses! It's the glass that is important. Film
cameras offer more choices both of focal lengths in lenses and films to
try, though digital cameras are handy I suppose.

The only problem with using film is that you then need a quality
filmscanner to get your images in digital form...and good scanners are
expensive.

Cheers,

Nina
