This came up on the photoshop list last week. Adobe has a "cross platform upgrade" that must be purchased directly from them. What this is is a full license and installer, but you pay the upgrade price and change platforms. brentley -----Original Message----- From: Anthony Atkielski [mailto:anthony@...] Sent: Tuesday, October 07, 2003 00:15 To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [Digital BW] Photoshop Alan writes: > Anyway, I'm thinking of moving toward the PC for > digital imaging but, of course, would need Photoshop > on that platform which leads to my question: If > I've already purchased Photoshop on one platform > (Mac), will I have to purchase another full license > (~$600) to get it on my PC? Generally, yes, unless you will be throwing away the Mac. However, it's worth asking Adobe about to see if you can transfer a license. At one time, I believe Adobe also allowed some other exceptional situations (home and office PC, as was done at one time with Microsoft Office as well), but I don't know if their license still works this way, nor do I know that it would even be applicable in your case. It costs nothing to ask, however, and if they say it's okay you've saved hundreds of dollars. If you are actually losing the Mac, in particular, it seems that you'd be able to transfer a license.
