This is a matter of routine maintenance. Try cleaning away the build-up on
the shiny bar that carries the printer head back and forth. It might look
clean, but it probably isn't.

I use a little windex on a towel. I finish with a drop of good quality
sewing machine oil.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
