RE: [Digital BW] Questions about switching from PiezoTone to MIS Inks

2003-10-21 by jeffmoore17@comcast.net

I am a current user of PiezoTone Selenium Tone inks w/ Museum Black. I
have not personally used any of the MIS inks; however, I do have one of
Paul Roark's prints using MIS UltraTone inks and the "N1" curve. To my
eye it is very similar to the PiezoTone Selenium, with the MIS UltraTone
maybe just a slight bit cooler.

Subject: [Digital BW] Questions about switching from PiezoTone to MIS
Inks

I've been very happy with the PiezoTone Selenium Tone inks w/ Museum
black I've been using with a CIS, But I'm getting tired of having to
shell out money on the ink--I print quite a bit. I like the large
size jugs of ink and the very reasonable prices of ink from MIS
though. I contacted Cone and Assoc. and they don't have ink in larger
than 4oz. bottles.

What is the closest MIS inks to the PiezoTone Selenuim inks. Also...
how compatible are these inks. There's no way I could just start
using the MIS inks by pouring them in with the Piezo inks--just
wondering.
The whole idea of switching over especially with a CIS is not too
joyous. Thanks for any and all info.
