Digital BW, The Print

Sorry I am not familiar with PhotoImpact. But, others have responded with good suggestions. I had completely forgotten about IrfanView...and that's free.

If you decide to buy something, I also highly recommend Picture Window (www.dl-c.com). The standard version will get you started nicely. The pro version, which I use, has some extra tools like the Color Correction transformation that I just could live without.
