Digital BW, The Print

i was using highest quality.
then this morning i had "I coulda had a V8" moment and
realised I had set the paper to the plain setting on
all my tests. looked at my eem/museum digital
art/concord rag samples-no banding, looked at my
premier fine art samples which are on thicker
paper-very slight banding, looked at my entrada
samples, thicker still-most banding. so my paper
setting oversight appears to be the problem.
i hope thats all it was
i am going to make that simple adjustment and recheck
tonight.
