I've never installed a CIS on any of my printers, but isn't an 1160 a 4-color printer while a 1280 uses 6 colors? Certainly you would need different "cartridges" for the two setups, plus extra ink bottles and feed lines. I'd have to wonder if it would be any cheaper than just buying a new setup for the 1280.
