Hello Alex, >I know densiometer readings show that Eboni >is darker, but can one really tell by looking >that Eboni exceeds the blackness of other inks, >say the PiezoTone Ks or MediaStreet Gen4K ? After printing BO with the FS-K for many months I recently bought a 2200 and began using Eboni and am very pleased with it. The Eboni is a bit warmer than a fresh FS-K print, but not as warm as the FS-K after it has warmed. Testers have reported that Eboni warms and fades little if any. Assuming this is true, I am happy to have prints that are more stable and still within an acceptable color range. As for the Gen4 black, I have beside me now one of the Tech Exchange prints that was done with FS inks + Gen4 K. Side by side with the same image printed BO with Eboni, just looking at the 100% patch, the Eboni is cooler. So of those three, if you count the FS and Gen4 after they have warmed, the Eboni is the coolest. However, I also have a BO print made for me last January with Museum Black. It is cooler than even fresh FS-K, and has not faded or warmed after nearly 10 months of naked exposure to nearly constant fluorescent light and fairly bright indirect daylight. I was told that Museum Black would be available in 2200 carts in January, so I'm eager to try it. I'd be delighted if I could get prints with that black, it's really pretty. It does seem to have a reputation for clogging, so I'm a bit concerned, but can only try it and see what happens.
