Don, You asked: >Is the special base the tea colored medium, and do you >know if it is available through MIS? It is apparently an entirely different base. I've never seen it. >As I was quite fond of the tone of your previous >posting of the custom Eboni Selenium blend for the >1280 and piezo driver, have you concluded that this >base will sufficiently mix with Eboni? I'll find out. I'm not really sure if this new base is designed for diluting inks or just for flushing the lines. I'll ask MIS. >By the way, excellent idea with the 3000 - I had >intended to wrap my fingers around one just as soon as >someone got the 4000 itch. Thanks for all your hard >work. I was lusting after a 4000 to replace the 3000, and it occurred to me that an enormous base of 3000 owners is probably doing the same thing. As such, it should soon be flooding the used market -- perfect for B&W printers who don't need the latest thing. Of course, the 3000 has its weaknesses. People will have to be sure they get a good one that doesn't band. And, of course, thick papers are really not useable. However, EEM works great in the 3000. I'll be searching for appropriate archival paper also.
