Though smaller in print size the printengines are much more sophisticated than the 3000 printengine. Especially the 5500 that has heads equal to the 7600 heads. Epson mentioned the 5000/5500 as the printer to be replaced by the 4000. In most markets the 3000 is still sold by Epson while the 5000 and 5500 disappeared from the catalogue. It is a dog to do service on so that could be the Epson motive. Ernst
