Re: [Digital BW] PhotoKit sharpener

2003-11-16 by A. Huntley

Arlene,

I own and have used the PhotoKit Sharpener on scanned 35mm film, large
format film (4x5, 8x10), and digital image files from my D30 and 10D. I have
done several tests against other sharpening products that I already own or
can download as trial versions--PowerRetouche, FocalBlade, Fred Miranda's
actions and plugins, other sharpening actions that have been posted on the
net, PS USM, etc. I read and tried many different techniques for obtaining
the style of sharpening that I'm looking for...I prefer clean,
non-artifacting sharpening vs. absolute sharpness.

In my testing and actual prints I have found the PhotoKit product to be the
most versatile, and it just makes plain sense. I absolutely LOVE the
sharpening brushes. At this point, I don't know how I ever lived without
'em! <g>

If you decide to purchase this product, I really don't think you'll be
sorry.

Alan Huntley

P.S. - BTW, the FocalBlade product was my next runner-up. Very nice software
indeed.
