The gamut of an LCD is generally a bit narrower than a CRT, but for B&W you
don't care. The main problem is that most LCDs won't calibrate properly with
a colorimeter, even though the colorimeter is supposedly made for LCDs. The
only LCDs that will calibrate well are the really high-end ones that have an
extremely wide viewing angle. If you tilt the screen and the image looks
different, then it won't calibrate accurately, because the colorimeter
accepts light from a much wider angle than your eye.
