Two quick comments for you, Keith. I'm a recent convert to QTR, running a dedicated Redhat 9 installation on a separate box only for that purpose. Epson 2200 connected to the Linux box. (1) I haven't tried doing what you're asking about here; I learned just enough to get RH9 up and cooking without trying anything fancy. So I copy a tif image into a shared folder between my pc/linux boxes and print from the linux command line. If what you suggest is possible, it would be a very nice compromise, and I'd switch to such a setup so I could use the standard Windows dialogs to check ink levels. (2) I had no problems using the CUPS/GIMP packages as installed by Redhat. Another poster suggested that one should download them separately, but I haven't seen any need for that. -david --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Editor P.O.V.
