Paul, I purchased and disassembled a used 1160 and it was quite loaded with waste ink. If I recall, I removed the two top screws on either side of the paper feed and the lid comes right off. To get to the waste pads you have to take screws off the bottom - esentially turning the printer into three parts. The waste pads are a strange item and unless you have a source for an epson replacement it would be difficult to replicate the material they use. As the top of the waste pads (5 total?) was saturated with ink, I just shuffled the pads until the most saturated was the second to the bottom and the least was on the top and reassembled the thing. An option would be to feed the waste lines outside of the printer into an waste ink collection jug. Then you could reset the master counter of the printer and be on your way, dumping the waste ink whenever it became full. > > Has anyone tried replacing the 1160 waste ink > pads? > > > > Any ideas on where instructions might be found? > > > > Thanks. > > > > Paul > __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
