Yes to third party inks...this is why I posted the Staples link. The 2000 with Epson inks 
suffer from the worse metraisum and I would not use Epson inks in this printer.

As you can see the 870 and 780 Epsons are touch smoother than the 2000.

BUT...when compared to the 1160 the 2000 is so much smoother:

But I'm getting beautiful dot free smooth prints from my 1160s with Piezotones and 
QTR.

If I didn't have two 1160s and two 1200s I would by a 2000.
