Digital BW, The Print

hi everybody.

while I'm still in love with my 7960 (couldn't resist the plug :) I'm
itching to do 13x19s again with my 1280.  I print b/o with mis gp inks.
I got cyan lines showing up even when setting to black only and some
friendly list member diagnosed it as a shot head.

now my question is:  how much does it cost to do a head replacement on
the 1280.  with used 3000s being dirt cheap (yummy,  16x20) and staples
having refurbed 2000 for under $200.- I'm wondering if I should have my
1280 fixed or if I should toss it.  I'd sure appreciate it if anyone who
has done this could tell me how much it cost.  I am an engineer by
training, so I might be able to most of the labor myself if that
helps...
