Barbara:  Thanks for the reply.  However, I'm not aware of any 
interpolation in my workflow.  I just take what the scanner gives and 
do some tonal adjustment in PS6.  Do you see any way for the problem 
you describe to arise without me doing anything overt to evoke it?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
