Ok, I got the printer working after doing what Epson Tech Support told me to do...that is go through 10 nozzle cleaning cycles with the Epson color carts. I have reinstalled the MIS VM carts and am using Somerset Photo Enhanced Velvet. I tried printing a file out of PhotoShop (toned it, converted to grayscale, applied Roark curve for neutral and converted back to RGB). The image looks awful. After I applied the Roark curve, it lost a lot of shadow and highlight detail and became very contrasty. What am I doing wrong? The image looks better w/o the Roark curves, but exhibits some posterization/metamerism-look on the Somerset. Should I use the ICC profiles off the Legion paper site? Thank you in advance for any help.
