I buy 50 packs of 13" x 19" sheets and cut the paper down... resulting 
in two pieces that are 13" x 9.5"... I center my 8 x 12 prints on that 
paper and trim off the margins if needed. If your printer only handles 
letter size paper (maximum width of 8 1/2", then trim your sheets down 
to 13" x 8.5").. It's only a couple cuts and doesn't take that long to 
cut a whole pack down to size.

If I buy Epson Heavyweight Matte from Office Depot, the paper ends up 
costing less than fifty cents per 8x12 print.
