I find it much more intutive to use than PS. If you want to graphic arts, PS is the way to go but if you are more interested in preparing a photograph for printing PW seems to be a better tool. The new version supports the use of the PS curves so you can use Pauls or anyone elses curves developed for PS. Quite frankly then only thing I find myself using PS for is the "healing brush."
