Just a piece of info to pass on that may be useful to some.  I started to
use UT inks in an Epson 870 (small version of 1270) but had very
pronounced microbanding.  Endless head cleaining wouldn't solve it,
alignments wouldn't solve it, but eventually putting a couple sheets
of EEM in the tray solved the problem.  I had previously been feeding only
one sheet at a time, but having 'backer' sheets seemed to help.  Now the
banding is very faint and almost invisible.

As a sidebar, I haven't been able to use the stock Roark curves from the
1280 in this printer.  Very abrupt transitions and not smooth at all.
