Thanks for your answer. I have both 35mm and medium-format(6x7) and I have asked for price on such scanner and it was too much for me as a beginner I think. I have looked at the Minolta 5600 and it looked to be a good choice. However, a friend of mine recommends Epson 3200 because I could use it for negative up to 6x9. I am a little skeptic to this. I have heard that flatbed-scanners are no good for scanning neg/dia. Have anyone comments on that. It would be very hand if the Epson is usable, but I have no clue. -Ulf Widen Hello Ulf, >I am a beginner in using digital media in photography. I do have >a lot of B/W-negative from late 60's to now. Best results will come from a film scanner, not a flatbed. You didn't say what format. For 35mm, 2700 dpi scanners are around $200-300 (Minolta). 4000dpi scanners are around $500 I think (Canon, Nikon). The newest Minolta 5400dpi is around $750 (I have one of these, it's great). For medium format, 4000 dpi scanners start at around $1700 for the discontinued Nikon 8000, and about $2700 for the latest model. Take all these prices with a grain of salt. Things change constantly, but it should give you an idea. >I also would appreciate a recommendation of printer. Lots of choices here. I'll leave that to other forum members. Welcome to the Forum!
