Digital BW, The Print

I've been reading alot about curves and profiles, and have tried some 
of them in my epson 750. I was wondering if there are any curves 
or profiles specific to the epson 750. I'm using MIS quadtones and 
getting good results on epson photo, but not so great on the heavy 
weight matt and the Somerset. On these two matt surface papers, the 
print quality looks more like regular quality instead of photo 
quality.
