Alec - Imageprint makes beautiful b&w prints with Ultrachrome inks. I use Imageprint on a 9600, so I can't answer all of you 2200 questions. However, as for question 2: at last check Colorbyte Software (Imageprint) was only providing profiles for the 2200/7600/9600 for Ultrachrome inks. You can get custom made profiles for other ink sets. However, you will have to pay someone to make those. The Imageprint profiles are downloadable from the Colorbyte site for use with Imageprint. There is no charge for those. The number of papers for which Imageprint currently provides profiles for is fairly significant. Probably would cover almost all of the papers that you might want to use. I have a 1280 with which I have gone through a lot of stuff to get good color prints. Now I want to do B&W too. My thought was that I would buy a 2200 and use that for my color work and use my 1280 as a B&W printer. However, the snippets of information I picked up here about ImagePrint have me wondering if this is really necessary. So here are my questions: 1. Could I buy the 2200 and the light version of ImagePrint and use the 2200 for both color and B&W? 2. If the answer to 1 is yes. Would I be restricted to Epson's inks or would it be possible to use oem inks and cartridges? 3. Would there be some restriction w.r.t. papers? (I am assuming that if there are limitiations (w.r.t. #2 and #3) these will be removed as more vendors move to support this printer.) 4. Finally, I notice that Kodak has recently entered the printer market with dye-sub printer. How are these for B&W? Finally I want to say that, although sometimes the posts in this forum include a lot of extraneous stuff for someone who gets only the digests, DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint is one of the most vital and information-rich forums I have seen on the internet. It is a wonderful resource and I appreciate this community and the generous sharing of its collective knowledge. Thanks, Alec Himwich Yahoo!
