peter this may apply to you. i have an epson 1200 that had OEM dyes in it, then i switched to VM-no problem. Then I had to store the printer for a couple months will I did some messy house rennovation. Then I put OEM dye color carts in to make sure everything was okay-it was. Then I installed and MIS CIS system with UTs and everything works great. Just a couple o' purge prints and blammo, everything works. UT is better than VM. More lightfast, prints smoother. I have used the VM curves with UTs and it pretty much worked fine. But most of my printing uses QTR to drive my printer.
