For: Tom Andrews > I was wondering if anyone has compared prints from this system to > those printed using the quadtone PiezographyBW ink sets. How do these > systems compare in results and use? I used to print B&W using Piezography on the 1160 and am now printing on the 7600 using ImagePrint. I find the results to be the same with the exception that my ImagePrint prints are "more neutral" in that they don't have the warm tone of the Piezography inks that I was using. With ImagePrint you also have the TintPicker facility that allows subtle "toning" of the print. The Piezography inks used to clog my printer frequently, although I understand the newer Piezography inks are better in this respect; I have had no clogs using the Epson Ultrachrome inks. As I am in Bangkok using the latter inks, which are easily available here, is a big plus as I had to import the Piezography inks from the States which was costly because of shipping and high import duty. Also here's a quote from Jon Cone, the originator of Piezography: > We see ImagePrint as every bit as good as PiezographyBW Pro24 which is > why it was going to be the engine in Piezography2. --Mitch/Bangkok
