Chris: since you don't have a problem with the Epson cart, obviously
your problem is not a nozzle clog. It has to be in the cart itself
since you change that one thing and the problem goes away.
Unfortunately, I know nothing about refilling as I use a CFS. Have you
just tried filling another cart and see how that does? 

I've never heard of a 1280 that couldn't handle Eboni.
