Enhanced,Archival and Matte heavyweight Differences

2003-12-17 by Julio Fernandez

Enhanced is the same as Archival matte, name change only. Matt heavyweight
precedes them and was introduced for the 1280 dye printer. The actual
difference between these two papers is that the enhanced is whiter than the
HW but also has a much coarser surface which acts like a blotter. It has a
heavier weight than the Matt HW. The enhanced with matte black ink seems a
good combination. I sometimes use the HW with the 2200 and it works fine
and seems similar to the enhanced, although to get the blackest blacks the
enhanced is the better paper. If you have leftover HW from 1280 days, use
it.
