I had at one point thought that "Enhanced" matte was the name Epson used in the US only to avoid lawsuits over the misrepresentation of the paper's archival keeping properties. It appeared from their non-US web sites that "Archival" matte was the name used in the rest of the world. But, of course, large re-sellers often trans-ship products to get the best prices. Then an Epson rep told me the printing on the back was the difference, and that seemed to be consistent with what I saw on my various batches. Now I'm wondering, again, what if any rhyme or reason there is for their naming. I'm still suspicious that they want to "have their cake and eat it too" -- a cheap, good looking paper that they can sell to people as having archival keeping qualities.
