Expensive? I hope you are printing many small tests on each sheet? I do about 3x4's or so to see if the tones are right etc. and bear in mind that each paper reacts differently to the inks, giving different "colors"and different black densities. I suggest that you try Epson Velvet if you want neutral tones and good blacks.
